DRIVERS face two months of Traffic hell as they navigate one of Bury town centre's busiest roads.
Up to eight weeks of work started on Tuesday (Feb 11) to replace crash barriers along Peel Way.
Traffic bosses say the work is necessary to meet new legal and safety standards, but have tried to reduce disruption: the inside lanes on both carriageways will be closed, but not between the rush hours of 7.30am-9am and 4pm-6pm.
A Bury Council spokesman said: "By having restricted hours working, we hope to cut delays for motorists as much as possible. Obviously, though, there will be some travel difficulties, so we advise drivers to find alternative routes where possible."
