WITH Educating Rita by Willy Russell and Oleanna by David Mamet opening at the Dukes in February, there are two 'Pay What You Can' nights coming up for people who couldn't normally afford to go to the theatre.
The 'Pay What You Can' night for Educating Rita is next Tuesday, February 18, at 7.30pm, and for Oleanna it is Tuesday, March 4, also at 7.30pm.
Audience members literally pay what they have the funds for, making it affordable to all.
There are also matinee performances when ticket prices are reduced for people who prefer not to come into the city in the evening.
Theatre has had a reputation of being unaffordable and not intended for everyone but the Dukes is striving to make it accessible for all. For more information about 'Pay What You Can', call the Dukes on 01524 598500.
