MORECAMBE will be trying to recapture some of their FA Cup magic on Saturday in a repeat of their second round game from earlier this term.
Fellow promotion chasers Chester City will be heading for Christie Park in a bid to gain revenge for the 2-1 defeat which gave Morecambe a glamour third-round tie against Ipswich in January.
Mark Wright's side have recovered well from the blow and currently lie second in the league, albeit nine points behind runaway leaders Yeovil Town.
Morecambe have plenty of options at the moment, with no major injury doubts for the early stages of the promotion run-in.
Jim Harvey's side are currently sixth in the table, but need wins to avoid losing touch with fifth placed Hereford or falling victim to what looks set to be a late play-off run from cup-fighters Dagenham and Redbridge.
Saturday saw Morecambe draw against a Stevenage side which underwent instant surgery when Graham Westley took over as manager.
No fewer than seven recruits from Westley's old club Farnborough made their Stevenage debuts in the fixture, as the former Conference champions began a desperate bid to get out of the relegation dogfight.
That seemed to have paid instant dividends when, after just eight minutes, they took the lead with Justin Richards combining skill and luck.
He skipped into the penalty area and lifted the ball over Craig Mawson. It bounced back off the crossbar to the feet of Richards, who tapped home.
Stewart Drummond almost immediately forced talented French keeper Lionel Perez into a great save from a long-range piledriver.
From the resulting corner, youngster Danny Carlton found space to fire past Perez, leaving the former Sunderland and Cambridge man with no chance.
After that two-minute spell there were no further goals due, in no small part, to an outstanding performance by the athletic and talented Perez.
He saved well from Carlton before the break and big Jim Bentley afterwards, before turning a shot from Rigoglioso onto a post.
Morecambe controlled the game and played some excellent passing football. But, in the end, they could have lost it when experienced striker Phil Gray had a header, which clipped the post, and Mawson saved well from Richard.
But it was Morecambe who enjoyed the better chances - they must be sick of the sight of Perez, a player who was one of the best in the second division last term and who, if he keeps Stevenage up, could yet turn out to be the signing of the season.
