DARWEN manager Steve Wilkes has warned his side not to be complacent when they meet whipping boys Castleton Gabriels in NWCL Division Two tomorrow.
Wilkes will be reminding his players that last season, with 12 games to play, they went to Castleton, who had only picked up four points all season, and only got a draw.
Darwen have lost just one in 12 and Wilkes wants to win as many of the remaining 11 games of this season as possible.
He said: "We are a point behind Stone but they have nine games in hand!
"But I don't believe in building for next season, I want to finish as high as I can this season. We have played a lot more than other teams but they have to get those games in. I will be reminding the players about what happened last season at Castleton and I don't want it to happen again."
Darwen have taken Bamber Bridge defender Chris Blakeman on loan while Denny Khan has made a surprising switch to Colne.
"We have not fallen out. He is just going there for a few games. It is better than being on our bench. They needed someone big and strong to play up front with George Craddock."
Andy Walsh, Dennis Hill, Craig Shaw and Jimmy Khan are unavailable but Andy Smith, David Rhodes, Matt Atkinson and Colin Entwistle come in.
"I am a firm believer that if you are good, you keep your shirt so it is a chance for them."
