LANCASHIRE United has been asked to reconsider its plans to scrap the Hyndburn circular bus service along Sparth Road and in the Forts Arms area of Clayton-le-Moors.
People concerned about the effects it would have on older residents have contacted Hyndburn MP Greg Pope.
And the Labour backbencher has written to the company asking it to reconsider the move. Mr Pope said: "Elderly residents of the Willow Close area have contacted me to express their concern about the withdrawal of this service.
"Lancashire United has a good record of keeping me informed about changes to their services and it has a good reputation as a listening company.
"The company claims not enough people use this part of the route but it'll make a huge difference to dozens of older people."
The change is part of a recently announced package of service revisions via Lancashire United.
