IT is nice to know that not only has our MP, David Chaytor, got the right idea about the planned atrocities in Iraq, but that he also wants to hear the views of his constituents.
What a pity that Tony Blair hasn't got similar Christian values and morals. He already knows that the vast majority of Britons are against his war (well, it's George Bush's war really) yet he chooses to ignore the nation's views.
Oliver Cromwell would turn in his grave if he knew that the democracy he and our ancestors fought so hard to establish had been replaced by a dictatorship.
I just pray that our police officers are not instructed to adopt the "Tony and George method" when dealing with hostage situations. That is . . . it doesn't matter how many innocent by-standers get killed just as long as you get "the bad guy".
And I would hate to see our law books re-written to include the new "George Bush v Iraq" precedent. That is . . . that after committing an unprovoked attack, resulting in death or serious injury, an acceptable defence would be that the aggressor thought the victim might attack so he attacked first! A sort of pre-emptive act of self-defence.
I hope Tony Blair is going to get his hand in his pocket after a war with Iraq and pull out the several billion pounds it is going to cost to look after the orphan victims. And it should his pocket, not ours, because we don't want this war, despite the fact that he is making us pay for it.
