SCHOOL REPORT: St Luke and St Philip's school is a voluntary aided primary school and we strongly value links between school, home and church. We are sympathetic towards the needs of today's multi-cultural society and believe within the framework of a Christian ethos we can offer all children a positive moral attitude which will serve them well throughout their lives.

Everybody in our school always tries their hardest to work and get along with people in school. Our school is like a large family where every day we all come to learn something new.

We have about 230 children (including a pre school nursery).

HISTORY LESSON: We are now housed in modern spacious buildings, but our school dates back to 1857. For more than a century the school has provided caring Christian surroundings. The present school is an amalgamation of Emmanuel and St Philip's schools.

OUT AND ABOUT: We have a Breakfast Club from 8am where there is a weekly themed menu.

We also have a range of after school clubs; .

STAR PUPILS: Our school features in "The Road to Nab End". Ian McShane, the actor, is an old boy of our school and we maintain contact with him.

WHAT ABOUT THE PARENTS?: Parents and governors play an active part in school life. We have a PTFA and run various groups in school so that parents and children can learn together. We run a SHARE group and have organised Family Literacy groups. The PTFA organises fairs, fashion shows, discos and more. We believe children benefit from seeing carers, teachers and parents working together to enhance their education. We have close links with our parish church and visit regularly.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A £100,00O WINDFALL?: That would buy us our Interactive Whiteboard. We have been busy fundraising and have raised nearly £1,000. We could have a board in every class. We would employ more teachers because we find children learn best in small groups. We love going out on trips to make learning fun and this would enable every child to participate in a curriculum trip.Parent's guide
