IN response to the traffic chaos after the snowfall on Monday, February 3, Blackburn with Darwen Council's executive member for regeneration Coun Andy Kay, said: "We were out gritting all day. I think the delays were more to do with people taking it easy than anything else." (LET, February 4).
The only persons taking it 'easy' are people like Coun Kay, who seem to find it very easy to come out with statements like that and expect us to enter into this dream world that they live in and suspend our contact with reality.
However, far from getting into who is at fault etc., I must say that residents of this borough will only get the level of intelligent government, services and regeneration that they vote for and so, ultimately, we only have ourselves to blame.
The comment from Coun Kay may have been short but to me it speaks volumes.
