STAFF and regulars at a Walshaw pub have raised more than £7,000 for a cancer charity.
The White Horse pub in Hall Street has handed over a cheque for £7,108 to the All Together for Christies group, at Christie Hospital in Manchester.
Drinkers got involved to help raise the cash, including a sponsored walk from the pub through Ainsworth, Harwood and back again.
Lynne Dougherty and Trevor Cowburn also organised fun days in the grounds of the pub which included a Walshaw Drag Queen contest where revellers paid to vote for their favourite.
Dave Butterworth held a Stars in Their Eyes event which made £200 and a head shave by Brian Hall raised £1,000. A raffle at Panache hair salon in Radcliffe also raised £50.
Events were co-ordinated by pub landlady Liz Malone.
She said: "We chose to raise money for Christies because it is such a worthwhile charity. The customers have been great and have just been handing over their money.
"We are now looking to run more fund-raising events and hope to start again at Easter."
