If this youngster beat you in a game of snooker you might feel embarrassed but you need not be because you will merely be the latest in an every growing line.
Eleven-year-old Kamran Ashraf of Victoria Street, Nelson has notched up 25 tournament wins so far since taking up the game 10 months ago. His victories, many of which have come against players more than eight years older than him, have come in a whole host of competitions held at the Chalkers Snooker Club based on Scotland Road.
Kamran's father Raht told us: "He's been playing pool since he was five-years-old and he took the game of snooker up last year. Since then he has won over £300 in prize money having entered any competitions that come along."
"It is embarrassing for some older players when they get beaten by him and sometimes he even gives them a head start.
"Because he plays on a full-size table he sometimes needs an extension for his cue and rest. It doesn't seem to stop him playing well though.
"All his family are very proud of his achievements ." Kamran is currently at the top of the the under 19s league at his local snooker club and is hoping to test his skills with the very best later this year. If he wins an under 12s tournament in Nelson in March and then a play-off later he will have a chance to play Ronnie O'Sullivan in a match in Accrington.
Glenn Stevenson, owner of Chalkers Snooker Club said, "He's got great potential but he needs to keep on working hard and practising. It's not easy but if he works at it he can only get better."
"Paul Mercer and myself do help to coach him and other youngsters at the club every now and then."
"We run an under 19s competition at the club every Sunday at 12.30pm and if you think you are good enough come and give it a go. "
His father added, "Because he's so young he's allowed to enter any tournament and it's amazing how he tends to come out on top."
"Nobody else in the family plays so we are looking for someone to help coach him."
Kamran who goes to Lomeshaye Primary School, Nelson has a highest break of 96 on his smaller table at home and has notched up a break of 37 on a full size table.
