Thousands attended an Asian Wedding Exhibition at London's Wembley Exhibition Halls.
The event which aimed to showcase the best of East and West fashion and beauty, is now into its ninth year, saw six spectacular catwalk shows, with top international designers displaying next season's cutting edge designs.
This year's event was sponsored by Western Union whose stand featured dhol players and a lively MC in the shape of ex-Big Brother star, Narinder, hosting competitions ranging from Sari tying to roti rolling. Narinder's outfits, courtesy of Mani at Khubsoorat, were an explosion of colour making her presence as colourful as ever.
Zaynab, one of Europe's most innovative make-up artists, was on hand as creative director to the catwalk shows and to unveil her new cosmetics range, Provoke, the result of 10 years industry research.
In addition to the fashion and beauty exhibitors, there were also stands featuring jewellery, catering, florists, photographers and even fortune-tellers. Cascades of scented lilies and orchids provided a beautiful backdrop for one of the biggest ice-sculptures ever seen in Britain, depicting wild unicorns.
Yogesh Kanani, organiser and founder of the Exhibition, was thrilled with this years event and said, "Although in its ninth year, our event never loses momentum. We've had such a fantastic response to the exhibition from both the public and exhibitors and it is now regarded as an important calendar date for people of all ethnic origins."
