A TERRIFIED couple can't face returning to their home where they were robbed at knife-point.
The man and woman, both in their early 30s, are still traumatised after being woken from their bed by robbers who stole their car and cash.
Now, a fortnight after the attack, the couple are still too scared to go back to Bank House Close in Tyldesley where their dreams were shattered when three men broke into their bedroom brandishing knives and a screwdriver.
After demanding the couple's car keys the robbers took a wallet, cash and credit cards plus a mobile phone then drove off in a £15,000 black Skoda Octavia, registration HV02 PXE and locked the victims in a downstairs room.
When the trio had gone the frantic couple broke free and alerted police who are now keen to hear from anyone with information about the shocking raid.
Detective Constable Peter Morris of Leigh CID said: "This was a particularly frightening experience for the victims. They have been so distressed by the robbery they have had to move from their own home.
"The woman was recovering from a spell in hospital when it happened and this whole experience has left both them extremely shaken.
"The offenders got in through a downstairs window, armed themselves with knives from the kitchen then went upstairs where they became increasingly aggressive, shouting at the victims and demanding keys to the car.
"The offenders had searched the downstairs of the house first and seemed absolutely determined to get these keys. The car is a high-powered type and has not yet been recovered.
"It is possible the offenders are still using this car and I am appealing to anyone who has seen a car matching its description to get in touch."
"I am also appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around 4.50am on Monday, February 3 or has any information surrounding this incident to contact the CID at Leigh on 0161 856 7253 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
