A DECISION on plans to introduce traffic calming along a dangerous Darwen road will be made before the end of the month.
Greenway Street, which runs parallel to Blackburn Road, has seen 11 accidents in five years and five children have been injured on the road.
Back in December, councillors pressed council chiefs to do something about the road.
Coun Eileen Entwistle, Sudell ward, said: "It's one of those roads people cut across to avoid the main road and get to the M65 but with all the cars parked there it gets very blocked.
"There are lots of cars because it is a very heavily populated area and something needs to be done."
Adam Scott, council director of regeneration, housing and neighbourhoods, said the number of accidents on the road was 'unacceptable.'
The allocation of Government funds from the council's Local Transport Plan will be decided this month.
