SINGLES:

OK GO: Get Over It, (Capitol Records)

A SUPERCHARGED blast of glam rock drums, buzzsaw guitars and spiky lyrics, Get Over It, is the perfect introduction to the peerless power pop of this Chicago group. And already a firm radio favourite, this just might be one of the surprise hits of the Spring. CL

DIRTY VEGAS: Simple Things, (Parlophone)

ALREADY creators of a house classic in, Days Go By, Grammy Award nominated Brits, Dirty Vegas, show there is more to them than just writing thumping floor fillers. This epic ballad is both well crafted and genuinely heart-wrenching. CL

RON SEXSMITH: Gold in Them Hills, (Parlophone)

CURRENTLY on a US tour supporting Coldplay Ron Sexsmith's latest offering features a guest vocal from their lead singer Chris Martin.

And as the pair duet over the subtle electronic backing, the melancholic yet optimistic song is simply breathtaking. CL

SHANIA TWAIN: Ka-Ching, (Mercury)

ABBA took a swipe at how commercial society had become in the 70s and now Canada's multi-million Shania Twain is having her turn. The singer's own favourite track from her new album, Up, it's got tougher edge than we've come to expect. And opening with the sound of check-out tills ringing and some nice strings going on in the background, the only thing it lacks is a really catchy chorus. CL
