HE may have been at Maine Road during some of the club's darkest days but Georgi Kinkladze will always be a Man City legend.

Tomorrow afternoon, Clarets skipper Paul Cook will once again have a key role in making sure the playmaker does not have a major influence on the game.

At times this season it has appeared as if Kinkladze might well be on his way out of Pride Park. Left on the bench or even in the stand, he is one the players at the club who has wages that are far above their current first division means.

But at the moment he is back in the side, pulling the strings as the Rams, like Burnley, cling to hopes of a late surge up the table and into the play-off places.

The Georgian international will only be 30 in the summer and he has plenty more to offer the game although more than one manager has felt he is a luxury item that can ill be afforded.

The summer will be an important time for Cook who is out of contract but his form in the last couple of games has been impressive, stifling the attacks of both Coventry and Fulham.

He has even been winning a lot of ball in the air and that is one area where he should have no trouble against the little Georgian.
