RADCLIFFE Swimming Club enjoyed another successful weekend in the Central Lancashire Preliminary age group competition at Wigan International Pool.
There were only two events where their swimmers did not gain a place in the top six.
In the early session Sarah Bigg finished in the top six of the 800m freestyle, while Chris Long and Louis Szymanski led the way in the next session.
Both swimmers reached the final of the 11yr Boys 50m backstroke. Chris finished in sixth, recording a new personal best time in the process, with Louis in second.
Sam Barrow powered his way to a fine win in the 13 year 50m backstroke, while Lee Szymanski finished fourth in the 14yr age group.
Louis again placed second in the 200m individual medley event, while Sam came third.
Aaron Greenhalgh finished in a strong third in the 14yr age group.
In the girls 50m freestyle final, Joanne Long and Sarah Bigg both took second place in the 14yr and 15yr age groups respectively.
Sam Barrow took third in the 100m butterfly, while Matthew Balmer was second in the 16yr group in his first event.

Joanne Long was unlucky to only take second in the 15yr girls 400m freestyle after smashing her personal best by some 18 seconds with a time of 5.02.46. Sarah Bigg was third.
All four boys made it through to the final of the 100m backstroke. In the 11yr section Chris Long put in an excellent performance to take third place in a time of 1.31.58, while Louis Szymanski recorded his first win in this year's age groups in 1.25.69.
In the 13yr age group, Sam Barrow also recorded a new PB, with a time of 1.15.35 taking him to first place. Lee Szymanski was fifth in the 14yr group, with a PB of 1.21.70.
RADCLIFFE began their league programme with a trip to Altrincham in the Manchester and District Team competition.
They managed to keep themselves in contention due to some excellent swims from the 13 and 14yr girls.
The result came down to the final swim, with Radcliffe winning to tie for first place with Marple on 68 points.
