CLARETS boss Stan Ternent has vowed that Drissa Diallo and Marlon Beresford will still be a Burnley players next season.

Ternent said: "Drissa will stay and he is a very decent player. He was playing at a decent level when his club went belly-up in Belgium.

"He is an out and out good defender and we will get it sorted."

Diallo, like Arthur Gnohere before him, has been an instant hit with the Burnley fans and his defensive skills have been a key factor to the way the side has bounced back from the mauling by Reading to win at Coventry, and then draw with Fulham in the FA Cup.

He was delighted to sign an extended contract until the end of the season but has made no secret of the fact that he is enjoying playing in England and hopes to stay longer.

Meanwhile Ternent has said that his pursuit of a loan player or two to strengthen his squad has slowed this week, as he explained: "I have not tried to get anyone in.

"I have to consider that if I can get all my players fit it would have to be a decent player to come in as I am happy with the squad of players I have got."

Matt Jansen and Bryan Hughes have been two potential targets but it would appear that Ternent is happy to put his trust in his current crop of players, for the time being at least.
