WHEN most clubbers get bored of the same old clubs with the same old music with the same old people week in, week out, they normally opt for a night in with a few beers.

But not Burnley trio Chris Dawson, Nick Flynn and Fran Bruce.

When they decided they were fed up with the usual offerings in Burnley, they decided a house party was just what they needed -- both in style of music and feel of night.

But rather than taking over someone's front room, the lads pooled their resources and collective DJ talent to create Back To Mine?, a monthly night at the Kierby Hotel in Burnley town centre.

With an emphasis on a relaxed atmosphere and a funky House sound you could quite easily be in someone's front room ... although it would have to be a big house.

Chris said: "That's the kind of feel we have gone for. We want it to be a lot more relaxed than other places.

"Burnley only seems to have commercial clubs and bars, virtually nothing else, and we thought there was scope for something different.

"It's all about good music and a relaxed atmosphere, as though everyone is mates. Just like going round to someone's house for the night.

"We just wanted to see if something different would work, and it appears to be doing. It's a great laid back atmosphere."

The function room the lads use is split up into two. One one side there is the sound system with the dance floor and next to it is a quieter area where people can talk.

"That's something a lot of people want to do on a night out but often can't," said Chris, who got into DJ-ing about 18 months ago when he moved to Newcastle for a spell.

"The reaction we have been getting has all been very positive so far, about half the people coming along are regulars and the rest are always new faces.

"It was particularly popular over Christmas when the students were back in town and is gradually getting more and more popular.

"It just makes a change from what is normally on offer in Burnley."
