A WOMAN assistant was treated for shock following an armed raid at a Radcliffe post office.
Now, detectives are hunting the gunman who struck at the Black Lane Post Office in Ainsworth Road on Tuesday morning (Feb 18).
The man walked into the premises at 10.50am and produced what is believed to have been a silver handgun. He threatened staff before escaping with an unknown quantity of cash.
Police say the weapon was not discharged and no-one was injured. A female assistant was treated for shock at the scene.
The armed raider is described as being a white man, 6ft tall, and wearing a red jacket.
Detectives are anxious to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw the man enter or leave the post office. They are asked to ring Whitefield CID on 856 8240 or freephone CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
