SAFETY first will be the watchwords for Bury businesses at a special seminar being staged by Groundwork Bury on Thursday (February 27).
The Safety Management in warehouse and storage seminar at the Euro College in Walmersley Road, 9am to 1pm, is aimed at businesses of all sizes.
These embrace large warehousing and distribution concerns through to the smaller company that stores and manages raw materials and finished goods.
Groundwork Bury say that in the five-year period up to 1998-99, there were 4,486 non fatal injuries occurring in warehouses, of which 571 were major injuries and 3,915 were over three-day injuries.
And they stress potential accidents can arise from poorly maintained racking, poorly stacked materials and pedestrian-vehicle "conflict."
Anyone wishing more information about the seminar, or may have any questions, should contact Catherine Jacques-Loftus at Groundwork Bury on 0161 763 4185.
