Bob the mouse and family on lookout for a new house
BOB the mouse is looking for a new house -- and so are a cluster of his brother and sisters.
The tiny animal was part of a large family of mice abandoned on wasteland in freezing weather just before Christmas.
Sadly, two adults and three babies were already dead when they were found still inside their cage and taken to the RSPCA Altham Animal Centre, off Enfield Road.
Since then, a handful of the family have found new homes, but Bob is still being cared for by workers at the shelter, along with 12 of his brothers and five of his sisters.
Inspector Andy Kench, who rescued the mice, said: "This was a terrible thing to do to such innocent and defenceless animals and we hope they all soon find a new home."
Remember Morrisey the ferret from last week? The good news is that she was re-housed this week and is settling into her new accommodation well.
Don't worry, however, if you are still looking for one as a new pet -- the ferret unit at the RSPCA centre is still full.
