IT is very welcome that £1million has been agreed for environmental projects in three rundown areas of Hyndburn (LET, February 13) and even more welcome that local residents will be involved.
As a keen rambler, I love to go on local walks with my wife as it's an excellent way of relieving stress. I sometimes despair, when our walk is interrupted by blocked paths, lack of access, piles of rubbish or unsightly vandalism.
We will relish the opportunity to stroll along the new paths and maybe try some of the exercise equipment and meander through the woodlands.
Let's just hope that the mindless vandals, for once in their lives, can find the joy of walking through these areas without wrecking them.
