EMERGENCY services were called to a house in Melville Street, off Gisburn Road, Barnoldswick, on Thursday afternoon after reports of a possible death at the house.
But when the ambulance arrived it was discovered that the 55-year-old resident was drunk.
Inspector Martin Holleran said: "Someone had rung us because they were concerned about a friend who wasn't moving.
"They had seen him lying down through the window and were worried about him so we forced entry into the house but it turned out he was just drunk and had fallen asleep."
