AN illegal immigrant who had been living in Blackburn is set to be deported on Monday.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Vojtech Bodnar, 43, of Britten Street, Darwen, was arrested on Sunday and charged with driving without due care and attention, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and document offences. But during police inquiries it was discovered he was in the country illegally and the Home Office was informed.
Phillipa White, prosecuting, said the Home Office would be detaining him until Monday when he is due to be deported. She asked the magistrates for a two week adjournment for confirmation of his deportment before the charges are withdrawn.
