GERALD Peter Finnigan was making a fuss outside a house in Kings Bridge Road, Blackburn, because his ex-partner was inside with another man.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Finnigan shouted at a police officer to get the man out and became aggressive and abusive towards the officer. He was eventually arrested after the officer pulled his baton, and with the assistance of a member of the public.
Finnigan, 40, of Redlam, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was fined £75 and ordered to pay £65 costs.
Richard Prew, defending, said Finnigan's anger had not initially been towards the police. He said the house was Finnigan's former home and he had become aware there was another man there with his ex-partner.
"In drink he went round to confront them and accepts that once he was there he created something of a commotion," said Mr Prew.
