A MARRIED man has been convicted of molesting a 14-year-old girl in the back of a sports car.
Anthony Bain, a father-of-two, denied a claim that he indecently assaulted the teenager after meeting a friend for a night out.
He now faces sentencing in April along with another man who had pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting another girl under 16.
Bain, 35, of Sabden Walk, Blackburn, had denied a charge of indecent assault. Following the Preston Crown Court jury's majority verdict he was remanded on bail for sentence on April 11.
He was alleged to have indecently assaulted the 14-year-old in June last year while he and a friend were on a night out. The defendant told the court he was picked up by his friend, to find two girls in the car.
"It went without saying he knew I wouldn't be overjoyed" he told the jury, referring to times when others had been in the car on previous nights out and he ended up buying them drinks.
He said he thought the girls were in their late teens or early 20s and they went to the other man's home at Ribchester for drinks. He said the girls were dropped off in Darwen and he and his friend went to pubs in Blackburn.
