Leigh Centurions 38 Chorley Lynx 20 - THE Centurions will spend this week on the defensive after allowing another side to battle their way back in to a game they were dominating.
Last week it was Salford who rallied to draw 20-20 after trailing 18-4 and yesterday it was Chorley who scored three tries in seven minutes to put the frighteners on Leigh.
Coach Paul Terzis' blunt assesment was: "Our defence wasn't acceptable."
"We need to focus on our defence in training this week and work harder on it. In the last three weeks we've conceded 28, 20 and 20 again, so clearly we've got a problem in that area."
While Leigh allowed their standards to slip in the second half after racing into a 38-6 lead, they were never in any real danger of losing the tie and kept up their unbeaten record in the Arriva Trains National Cup.
Leigh were ahead inside seven minutes when winger Leroy Rivett collected the first of his two.
Tries from Dale Cardoza, John Duffy, two, Willie Swann and Bryan Henare had Leigh coasting. But they took their foot off the gas and paid the price.
