A LOOK at the key moments from the game against Chelsea.
ROVERS:
BRAD FRIEDEL Where would Rovers be without him? The proverbial brick wall as he denied Chelsea with virtually every part of his body...9
LUCAS NEILL Another solid display for the Aussie returning after international duty - refused to be bullied by Stanic...8
TUGAY Off the boil and was outclassed by Lampard. Frustrating how he good one week then gives possession away cheaply the next...6
CRAIG SHORT Was outstanding at the heart of a defence which refused point blank to cave in to Chelsea pressure...8
GARRY FLITCROFT Got stuck in as usual and made a couple of timely challenges. Might have grabbed a first-half goal if the ball had dropped kindly for him...7
DAVID DUNN Dunn gave one of his best performances of the season and gave Stanic and Babayaro a torrid time. Fitting that he scored the winner...8
ANDY COLE Couldn't get going in partnership with Grabbi. Ran into good positions but had to drift away from the box to get possession...7
CICCIO GRABBI Struck a volley which had plenty of power but lacked direction. Not on the same wavelength as Andy Cole...6
NILS-ERIC JOHANSSON Asked to fill the gap on the left flank in the absence of Damien Duff and did a capable job out of position...6
HENNING BERG Excellent display alongside Short and his experience in defence proved invaluable as Chelsea came at Rovers in bursts...8
VRATISLAV GRESKO Graeme Souness took a gamble by signing him without seeing him play, but it's one that has paid off - big time...8

TIME FOR ACTION
4 David Dunn drove a low shot firmly towards the bottom right hand corner but in the end it was a reasonably comfortable save for Carlo Cudicini diving to his left
11 Brad Friedel makes a point blank stop from Eidur Gudjohnson after an interchange between Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Frank Lampard
16 Gudjohnsen shot blocked by Craig Short after Rovers had been caught in possession midway inside the Chelsea half and allowed Claudio Ranieri's men to break
19 Grabbi's volley forces a diving save from Cudicini following good work between Lucas Neill and Dunn on the right flank
20 Mario Stanic thumped a header towards the bottom corner but the ball turned away from goal and was too far ahead of Lampard to get a vital touch to steer it past Friedel
32 Andy Cole turned quickly in the box and toe-poked a shot which Celestine Babayaro turned wide. Craig Short headed just wide from Dunn's corner
35 Friedel parried Hasselbaink's strike to prevent a Chelsea opener, then Vratislav Gresko got in the way of the Dutchman's follow-up
48 Gudjohnsen is further frustrated as Friedel keeps out another shot, this time with his leg
66 Babayaro's rasping drive forces Friedel into a brilliant diving save, which is palmed out to Hasselbaink but the Chelsea striker cannot convert
68 A driving run and shot from Lampard brings another quality stop from the American goalkeeper. From the resultant melee, Hasselbaink fires just over the bar
71 Hasselbaink heads wide after run and cross from Gudjohnsen
85 Mario Gallas turns Egil Ostenstad's cross over the bar, but Rovers take lead from resultant Dunn corner which substitute Dwight Yorke headed past Cudicini
90 Dunn caps excellent performance with Rovers' second goal, cutting inside from the left and steering ball past Cudicini with his right foot
90 Dunn brought down Hasselbaink 20 yards out and the Dutchman recovered to blast the free kick through the wall for a late consolation
