A 23-YEAR-OLD man was hit over the head and knocked unconscious during a street robbery.
The victim, who has not been named but from the Burnley area, suffered a fractured cheekbone and toe during the attack.
He was walking along the canal bank, between Finsley Gate and the viaduct in Yorkshire Street, at around 2.15pm on Friday when the incident occurred.
He was hit on the back of the head and two offenders then stole his bag which contained clothes and £65 cash.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital, but was not detained.
One of the men is mixed race, in his early 20s, with a large boil on his face.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 01282 425001.
