THE only thing I like about Blackburn is the name! But, seriously, I lived in Cherry Tree for 25 years but moved to Preston about six years ago -- and I love it.
I have fond memories of Blackburn, but it is stuck in the past. Look at how Preston is always developing. Your council, aided by your newspaper, I might say, just concentrates on Church Street and those blasted Pavilions. It's about time Blackburn became more forward-thinking. There is some great heritage and architecture, but it is all ignored.
I always thought I wanted to go back to Blackburn when I left, but having been living in a city that cares I have one thought now... Fat chance!
TONY BLACKBURN, Canon Street, Preston.
