MATT Jansen is hoping to score the goals and breed the confidence Coventry need for their play-off push.
The Rovers striker signed for the Sky Blues on loan until the end of the season to regain his fitness after sustaining serious head injuries in a road accident last summer.
And while he was disappointed to lose on his debut at home to Bradford City, he believes Gary McAllister's men are a good footballing side, despite a run of poor results.
"Losing can become a habit which is hard to break but you can change it into a winning habit just as easily by winning one game," he said.
"I was saying to Dean Holdsworth after the game that it seems to be the team who scores first who goes on to win games quite often in this league and a goal would certainly breed confidence after going so long without one.
"I came here because Coventry play good football and we tried to play today but we did not create enough chances really.
"The lads are understandably down about it but we can't mope, we just have to turn things round and I hope it will change at Grimsby next week.
"We have just got to keep plugging away now because the only way we can turn this losing habit into a winning one is by working extremely hard."
And he urged his new team-mates not to give up on the chance of making the play-offs.
"We can't rule them out yet," he said.
"We've lost four league games on the spin but if we win our next four we'll be right back up there and everybody will be talking about the play-offs again.
"It's going to be very hard work but we've got to put our chests out, keep our heads up and carry on."
The 24-year-old added: "This will be character-building for everyone here. I've been told you learn more when things are going badly than when they're going well and we all have to learn from this."
Jansen also explained how he was re-adjusting to life in the Nationwide.
"Saturday's match was very different to a Premiership one and was hard," he said.
"We like to play football just like Blackburn did when they were in Division One and they managed to get promoted playing that way.
"There aren't many teams who play passing football in this league but the reason I came here is because of the style Coventry play and because of the gaffer."
