RESIDENTS in Nelson's Southfield Ward joined in a clean-up campaign.
The Council's Neighbourhood Pride Officer Nasreen Khanam was joined by ward councillors to encourage residents in the ward to come out and help clean up litter and other debris.
Neighbours have also been asked to avoid leaving bin bags outside before collection days and to ask the council if they need help getting rid of bulky items.
Nasreen said: "We are really trying to encourage residents in certain areas to take responsibility for keeping their neighbourhoods clean and tidy.
"People need to remember to put out their bin bags only on their collection day and not before.
"And if they want to throw out other household items, they should contact the council which provides various free collection services."
