FULHAM boss Jean Tigana surveyed his injury hit squad after last night's derby draw at Spurs and admitted: "We are running out of players."

The Cottagers will be at Turf Moor tomorrow night fighting for a place in the last eight of the FA Cup and their French manager is concerned that his depleted troop will be weary after they battled for a point, playing much of the game with ten men after Maik Taylor's dismissal in the first half.

"Marlet is out, Alain Goma is out and Djetou needs a scan," he said. "They are all tired.

"I have to look at them before we travel north later today. I think I have flu myself. But despite being disappointed we only got a point for all the chances we made at Tottenham I'm very pleased with the way we showed we can fight."

Fulham are already without the services of striker Barry Hayles and first choice keeper Edwin van der Sar and Tigana will need to decide how to shuffle his pack for the fourth game in 11 days.

He was proud of his team's efforts last night but he accused Tottenham's Wales star Simon Davies of diving for the penalty which got goalkeeper Taylor sent off at White Hart Lane.

The keeper will be ready to return to action against the Clarets tomorrow night but Tigana insisted: "I will definitely appeal against the sending off.

"The referee was badly positioned and made a mistake but the linesman should have seen it from the touchline. Their player (Davies) was diving and you have to take sanctions against that if you want to stop it happening."

Taylor, who is still filling in for injured Dutch ace van der Sar and made superb saves from Anderton and Ledley King just before his dismissal, admitted: "I'm bitterly disappointed. If the referee had been in line with the incident he would have seen I got a touch to the ball before my momentum took me into the Spurs player.

"He would not have scored but that is the way things go sometimes. The rule can be very harsh."

Fulham had taken the lead after Ledley King diverted a cross-shot from the impressive Luis Boa Morte into his own net after 14 minutes. Fulham had lost both defender Martin Djetou (gashed mouth) and Steve Marlet before 20 minutes had elapsed, adding to Tigana's concerns ahead of the Burnley game.

England Under-21 defender Zat Knight came on for Djetou with the lively Louis Saha coming on alongside Facundo Sava in attack, although the Argentine striker had to be sacrificed to allow sub keeper Martin Herrera to replace Taylor.

At least that should mean that Sava should be fresh for tomorrow night having played less than half a game.

It is not unheard of for professional players to play twice in the space of 48 hours, in fact that is often the norm at holiday periods such as Christmas and Easter, but it remains to be seen whether the Clarets can force home the advantage they have by having had an extra couple of days to prepare for the crunch clash.
