THE man who has conducted Blackburn Music Society for 25 years is set to celebrate his anniversary in style.
Musical director Dr James Eastham will mark the occasion by leading the Society's choir in a special performance of Verdi's Requiem with the Northern Symphony Orchestra on April 5.
Darwen-born Dr Eastham, 70, who now lives in Stockport, has travelled the globe with some of the world's top orchestras and taught at the internationally-renowned Chetham's School of Music in Manchester.
The Jubilee Concert will be held at King George's Hall in Blackburn and starts at 7.30pm.Tickets are £12 and £10 from Mrs M McAllester on 01254 201978 or the venue on 01254 582582.
