WE have to thank Councillor Colin Rigby for telling us of the mess that the roof of Blackburn Town Hall is in (LET, February 14).
This is bad enough, but to let it remain in such a state for 12 months or more is nothing short of sacrilege.
The council is quite prepared to squander the vast amounts of money on the roofs and buildings known as the Church Street Pavilions, but from all accounts are neglecting the roof of Blackburn's No 1 building.
As old as it is, the town hall is a far better structure than the monstrosity that was built next to it, and which needs constant attention to keep it vertical. The time has come to repair the town hall roof quickly.
