A TYLDESLEY thespian will get his kit off and strut his stuff around Manchester Opera House in the raunchy show Girls' Night Out.

Adam Waddington, who has starred in TV soaps Heartbeat and Emmerdale, plays stripper Robbie in the show about the most unforgettable hen night ever.

The 29-year-old, who has been touring the UK with the hit West End show since last September, said he was nervous to be playing a stripper in front of his friends and family.

Adam told the Journal:"It's going to be a nervewracking experience, but I'm sure I will be fine. It's going to be great playing in Manchester in front of my friends and family. It's always nice to return home, I don't have to pay for any digs. My grandma still lives at Gin Pit."

And former Wigan pier actor Adam, whose mum and dad Angela and Doug and sister and brother Lousia (26) and Ben (23) all live in Tyldesley, said playing Robbie in the show has been demanding.

He said: "It's been an extremely challenging role for me to play, the dance routines have been physically demanding. I've had a fantastic time touring, I've visited places I wouldn't normally have seen.

"We don't have the typical theatre audience at our shows, we have hen parties and groups of girls who come and watch us. The reaction we've had from them has been great. We finish off with a big strip routine like in The Full Monty."

And when the Girls' Night Out ends next month, Adam plans to return to a few more traditional theatre roles.

"I'm going to Keswick to perform in three plays, and I'm really looking forward to that. I'd like to do more television but I love doing theatre. It's an immediate art form and the roles are so varied."

And thrilled mum Angela, of Wareing Street, said: "I'm so proud of Adam, he has worked very hard."
