WITH reference to Eric's cartoon (LET, February 18), I am a true born Scot and I found it offensive and a racist slur on the proud people of Scotland.
A strong part of the British Isles, its people which have brought you: Fleming -- penicillin; John L Baird -- television; J Simpson -- anaesthesia; Sir Watson Watt -- radar; James Watt -- steam engine; Lister -- antiseptics.
I could go on and on, but I think I have made my point so when Eric is driving home on the tarmac covered roads, on his smooth pneumatic tyres spare a thought for the Scots who invented them. By the way, take a Mac -- it might rain.
