A SECOND meeting to resolve the £2billion pensions crisis at BAE Systems ended in stalemate yesterday.
Management and unions are due to meet again on March 13 in a bid to avert a strike by workers determined to protect their pension rights.
Barry Culshaw, works convenor for engineering union Amicus at BAE System's Lancashire plants, said: "We are still making some progress and I am hopeful it can be resolved without the need for industrial action."
BAE wants to increase contributions from workers by an additional two per cent, reduce the level of benefits and bar new workers from its final salary pensions scheme.
