PUPILS from Stonyhurst College have been holding internet discussions with the Pope's official biographer.
Lower sixth form pupils met internationally- acclaimed American writer George Weigel at Manchester University when they attended his lecture, Living in Freedom: The Moral Vision of John Paul II. The author is one of America's leading commentators on religion and public life, and committed to human rights and religious freedom. The Stonyhurst pupils are studying the Catechism with college chaplain Fr Matthew Power and head of history Michael Turner.
"George Weigel presented papal teaching on morality as a liberating vision, profoundly satisfying and profoundly human," Mr Turner said.
The pupils spoke to the author after his lecture and are holding further discussions with him via internet video-conferencing.
