DENNIS Wise may be 37 this year but he showed there is still plenty of fight left in him at the weekend with a clash with former Rovers skipper Tim Sherwood.

The famous Wise temper blew up as his team was slipping to a heavy 5-0 defeat but it is that sort of fighting spirit that the Clarets midfield will have to cope with.

One player who loves a battle is Burnley's Lee Briscoe and he is currently enjoying his new role in the middle of a five-man midfield.

Having made his name as a full back he initially moved forward to the left of midfield but is relishing being in the heat of the battle.

And a battle is what it will be against the former Chelsea legend, who is well known to Stan Ternent from his days as coach at Stamford Bridge at the start of the 90s.

He made the move to Millwall after his acrimonious exit from Leicester City having broken Callum Davidson's jaw on a pre-season tour.

His legal action against the Foxes has ensured that, while he is still a hero at both Wimbledon and Chelsea, he is public enemy number one at Leicester.

But the one thing that he has never looked like losing is his combative style and if the ball playing members of the Ternent team are to be given a platform on which to perform, Briscoe will need to make sure this is a battle Wise does not win.
