SATURDAY'S goal hero Dean West is hoping to find the net against Millwall for the second time this season but he confessed: "I am just as happy if we keep getting clean sheets."

West's wonder strike at Stoke was enough for victory as the Clarets recorded a fourth clean sheet in the last five games, a run that has brought nine points and a place in the FA Cup quarter-final.

But West has insisted that the Watford game is not a distraction as all thoughts are fully focused on taming the Lions in the New Den.

"The more people talk about the Cup game the bigger it gets but the main thing for us is the match against Millwall," he said.

"It has been easy to keep the Cup out of our minds because we have had training and then the game tonight. After that we can start thinking about playing Watford.

"There are no easy games in the first division. People will have looked at us going to Stoke having beaten Fulham 3-0 and thinking we would win but we knew it would be a tough game.

"I was pleased with my goal but I enjoyed the three points more.

"We know Millwall got beat 5-0 at home at the weekend but that makes their next game very important. They will be wanting to put that right."

West certainly got his shot right at the Britannia Stadium but he claimed: "To be honest I thought the one against Reading was better. It sat up nicely after a flick at the near post fell perfectly for me.

"It was a poor game and the conditions didn't help at at times we couldn't get out of our own half.

"Our strikers have been scoring plenty of goals but it is important that the other players chip in to take the pressure off the front lads. Coxy got one the other week and so did Drissa.

"In fact the only one who hasn't is Branchy," smiled West who has not been slow to remind the left back that the right back has netted five times this season with Branch yet to strike.

In fact it is two years and one month since Branch last found the net for Burnley, ion a 4-2 defeat at Crewe.

West had not scored for Burnley before this season but he now has five to his name and is hungry for more.

Tonight's match is the second in an energy sapping run of five on the road but West is certainly not looking for any sympathy.

"We have to spend a few hours on the bus but that is not hard work," he said. "There are lots of people who would like to be in our position, people who do a proper job."

For now West's job is to keep out Millwall's players and maybe chip in with another goal.

He has already netted once against the Lions this season and another would ensure he keeps the bragging rights over Branch.

But both men, who form part of a settled back four alongside Ian Cox and Drissa Diallo, would take a clean sheet before kick off and rely on the front players to bring home the points.
