GRAEME Souness' comments about the merits of being in Europe - or lack of them - has had me wondering all weekend.
And I'd really love to know where fellow Rovers supporters stand on this issue.
I agree with his opinion on the InterToto Cup and fully understand why he wouldn't want to be part of it. I do think it would be detrimental to our squad, whether it did provide a backdoor into Europe or not.
But I don't concur with his views on striving to earn a place in the UEFA Cup next season.
We don't have a great record on the continent, but wouldn't it give us something to play for, and give the supporters something to look forward to, instead of ambling through the rest of the season.
To me, it shows a lack of ambition, and I worry what affect it might have on any summer dabblings in the transfer market because probably every player worth his salt wants to be playing in Europe in some capacity or another.
