THERE were no excuses for Fulham having to play Monday and Wednesday, according to Stan Ternent (LET, February 26) in advance of their game at Turf Moor.
I'm sure it would have been a different story if Burnley had played Monday and had to travel to London on Wednesday.
A team with most goals against, except the bottom three in Division One, beats a team with the worst away record in the Premiership having had to play two games in three days.
Suddenly Burnley fans are getting excited again, just like they were a couple of years ago, looking forward to derby matches against Rovers.
We know what happened then don't we? The bubble will burst eventually.
Wayne Hunt (Football Jury, LET, February 20) says Matt Jansen lacks the qualities to be a Burnley player - desire to win. Stan Ternent didn't seem to think so he wanted him on loan. Wisely, he chose not to go to Burnley.
Enjoy it while it lasts, Burnley fans. We are waiting for the inevitable to happen.
