I MUST be going a bit soft as we approach the end of the season - I didn't think the ref had a bad game on Saturday!
Now I'm not saying he had a good game, just that he didn't have a bad one.
We picked up another valuable three points against Blyth Spartans at the Crown Ground, but we were made to work for them.
After being 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes, with goals from Lutel James and Andy Procter, I think the last thing we expected was to end up winning by just a single goal.
However, with second place Stalybridge suffering a home defeat, the victory took us 14 points clear at the top of the table.
We have built up a lead at the top now but nobody is taking anything for granted.
The end is almost within reach, however I know that nobody will relax until the prize is firmly in our grasp.
I am continually asked which game will allow us to know whether we have done it or not, but I have to keep reminding people that there are a good few games to go yet.
All we can do is to keep winning and if the other chasers have the odd slip then that is a bonus.
It was another good gate on Saturday afternoon, and we are hoping that our attendances should grow as the run in continues.
We haven't got a home game now until Saturday March 22, when Whitby Town visit the Crown Ground, and I would encourage everyone in Accrington and surrounding areas to come down and join us for the last four games of the season.
Before the Whitby game we have two Saturday's away, first at Altrincham and then at Lancaster.
I am sure that we will take a large following to both of these games and although it has been said several times before this season, the fans have been fantastic on the road this year.
A prime example was Worksop a couple of weeks ago where our supporters travelled in their hundreds down to Nottinghamshire, and were vocal from start to finish.
I know that the players and management appreciate it and I am sure it played a part in the 4-1 win.
Eleven games left!
