THE Clarets home reserve match with Oldham Athletic this afternoon offered manager Stan Ternent a chance to get some important match practise into senior players who have not been in the first team.
Arthur Gnohere, Dimitri Papadopoulos, Gordon Armstrong and Andy Payton are all in need of games as is Marlon Beresford's deputy Nik Michopoulos in goal.
With games set to come thick and fast throughout a mad month of March, Ternent has admitted that he is going to need as many fit players as possible to cope with the inevitable run of suspensions and injuries.
The reserves have been out of action for a few weeks and Ronnie Jepson's side will be looking to move up the table although the reserve boss said: "Results have never been the most important thing. We need to be getting players fit and ready for the manager."
