ROSSENDALE women will gather to celebrate an international event on Sunday.

The Lancashire Youth and Community Service has organised free workshops for women, including car maintenance, henna hand painting, CV writing, poetry and team challenges.

They will be held at the Whitewell Bottom Community Centre, Burnley Road East, on Sunday

The day has been organised by Rossendale youth and community worker Tracy Blandford to mark International Women's Day, which will see events held across the UK.

She said: "International Women's Day offers women the chance to have fun and try out different activities in a safe, friendly atmosphere.

"Joining in with events celebrating Women's Day across the globe can give women confidence and renewed energy to strive for a better world."

There is no charge for the events, but participants are asked to bring their own lunch. Childcare is available.

Places can be booked by contacting 01706 225180 before 4pm on Friday.

The day will start with refreshments at 9.45am and workshops begin at 10am, ending at 5pm.
