BURNLEY police are appealing for witnesses after a car smash in Queen Victoria Road.
Officers said a white Peugeot 206 was in collision with another car as it was overtaking a van.
Police said the car was forced on to its side by the impact of the smash, but the driver made off when the vehicle fell back onto four wheels.
The Peugeot 206 also ran into the path of a Fiat Uno driven by Simon Fleming, 19, of Napier Street, Nelson.
Mr Fleming and two passengers, received cuts and bruises. None were taken to hospital.
Witnesses to the accident said the Peugeot 206 has a registration number beginning with J654.
The man driving the Peugeot is described as a white, slim build, with short dark hair in his 20s.
