IT was bound to happen that traders in Bridge Street, Darwen (left), would lose custom (LET, March 4).
The council has been obsessed for years with pedestrianisation in Blackburn and although Blackburn still has a lot of shoppers, there would be a lot more if people didn't have to park (and pay for that privilege) then have to walk a long way to the shops.
I, along with lots of others, don't go into town for that reason. We go to Accrington and out-of-town shopping centres.
