JAMES Anderson has described the World Cup as the most incredible experience of his cricketing career.
The Burnley bowler, who arrived back in East Lancashire today, said: "It was a real carnival atmosphere throughout the World Cup.
"Unfortunately, it was a disappointing finish, but it wasn't just down to politics and the weather, although it shouldn't have been left to us to decide (about Zimbabwe).
"I've improved dramatically over the last six months to a year, but I've had to to perform at this level."
The 19-year-old from Burnley added that playing against Australia was the most nervous he'd ever been in a game.
"Every game I play I'm nervous for about the first over I bowl. Australia was a bit different," he said.
Anderson is now looking forward to a couple of weeks away from cricket.
"I am going to have some time off, play some golf and go to the gym."
