LEIGH RMI's quest for a first trophy since winning the UniBond League gathered pace last week without the Railwaymen lifting a finger.
The win over Chorley a fortnight ago was expected to earn them a Lancashire Trophy final tie against UniBond champions elect Accrington Stanley. But that idea was scuppered when lower league Kendal Town emerged from their semi-final with the Accies 2-1 winners at the Crown Ground.
A date and venue has yet to be decided upon but Lancaster's Giant Axe and Morecambe's Christie Park grounds are likely candidates.
Despite making an undignified exit from the FA trophy eight weeks ago, the competition continues to dictate fixture changes to the Railwaymen.
After having to move the Farnborough game because of their involvement in non-league's most prestigious competition, RMI now have to travel to title-chasing Yeovil Town on Tuesday night (March 11, 7.45pm).
It has been brought forward from the original date of March 15 due to the Glovers' quarter-final Trophy match.
